Memories (1987 - 2003)

Fusignano in the second half of the twentieth century was an important footwear center, dozens of factories of various sizes gave work and well-being to the whole district; the town, then with just over 7,000 inhabitants, boasted one of the highest per capita incomes in the country. There is almost no trace of all this anymore, the competition from Asian and Eastern European countries where labor is cheaper has been devastating for a production mainly focused on priced footwear. The light that filters through the dilapidated roof of the old factory designs new and stimulating shapes for a renewed perception of the place; moving, ephemeral forms that challenge the desolation of ruin.
