Giovanni Zaffagnini alse seems to debate the meaning of the word "fragment", so often used in order to indicate the photographic image: fragment of reality, the cut regarding reality and the taking. However, whereas photographs are determinate portions from a framing(with the exception of the cases of automatic photographic writing, without control over the framing), these torn pieces are the result of a gesture of destruction and they embody the meaning of this same destruction. And yet in practice they remain images, they are still images. As if I say that also the image - like the framing - never finishes and that as long as there is even the most minimal trace of something then there is still the image.
